A 5×10 or 10×10 that filled up after a move, a downsizing, or a “we will sort it later.”

Storage unit cleanouts in Garland and North Dallas

A 5×10 is often a ¼ to ½ load ($275–$450). A packed 10×10 can be ¾ or a full trailer.

Stacked boxes and household overflow like the contents of a storage unit waiting to be hauled

A storage unit starts as a bridge and becomes a subscription. After the move, after the downsizing, after the estate, the 10×10 is still there, still billed, still full of a life that does not fit the current rooms. Jolly Goat Junk empties that unit. We load into a fourteen-yard usable dump trailer, we haul, we dump at licensed facilities. You stop paying rent on a hallway you never visit.

Facilities around Garland, Richardson, Plano, and Rowlett all have their own rules: hours, drive-up versus elevator, how long a trailer can sit in the aisle, whether we need to check in at the office. Tell us the facility and the unit number when you send photos. We work inside those rules. We are not a 40-yard roll-off that blocks the row for a day. We are a crew for a window.

Volume is honest and a little surprising. A packed 5×10 is often a quarter to half load on our card — $275 to $450 — because boxes cube up. A packed 10×10, especially with furniture, can be three-quarters or a full trailer ($625 or $770). A few pieces you already pulled to the door can be the $125–$175 minimum. Photos with the door open, from the threshold, beat any description. A person or a door frame in the shot gives us scale.

On site we confirm the number before we start pulling. If you still want to keep a cabinet or a box of photos, mark them or pull them before we arrive. Storage-unit jobs go faster when the keep line is already decided. We will wait through a last look. We will not play auctioneer in the aisle while another renter needs the hall.

Climate-controlled interior units add a long carry or an elevator. That is access, and it belongs on the range. Drive-up units with a roll door are the easy version. If the facility will not let a trailer down the row, we stage at the gate and shuttle. That takes more time. Photos of the approach save a conversation in the parking lot.

What we take is ordinary household and garage-style overflow: furniture, mattresses, bins, bikes, the treadmill, the spare fridge once refrigerant is handled. What we do not take: wet paint, fuels, chemicals, explosives, or the facility’s own shelving. If you find a can of solvent in a tote, set it aside. We will tell you where it should go instead of hiding it in the load.

People sometimes combine a unit cleanout with a house or apartment on the same day. Possible, if the map and the volume make sense. A Richardson unit and a Garland house can be one loop. A unit in Plano and a house on the far edge of Frisco may be two windows. Inside fifteen miles of our Garland yard, mileage is included on the pin. We will say which pin we are using.

Lock-out situations and auction cleanouts for owners or facilities are a different conversation than a renter emptying their own unit. We need the person with the right to release the contents. We do not cut locks for a friend of a friend. If you are the facility or the lien holder, say that plainly and we will talk process, photos, and a number.

Usable, clean items can skip the landfill when that is honest. Most units are a mix of “why did I keep this” and a few things that should have gone to the new house. You can pull those before we arrive. What is left, we treat as volume. No invented reviews on this page, no speech about changing your life. The bill stops when the unit is empty and swept enough to turn in.

Same-week is typical. Same-day depends on their gate hours and our calendar. Sunday hours at many facilities are short or zero; we plan around that instead of arguing with a keypad. Send photos tonight, the facility name, and whether it is drive-up. We will send a range, then confirm it with the door open before the first box moves.

Climate-controlled halls are slower than drive-up roll doors, even when the cubic feet look the same on the lease. Elevators, carts, and a facility that wants us out before lunch all belong on the text thread. “Empty enough to get the deposit” is a different stopping point than “every hanger.” Tell us which you need. We sweep for a typical turn-in. We do not detail the floor paint or argue with the office about a scratch that was there in 2019.

If the monthly bill has started to feel like a joke you are no longer in on, that is a practical feeling. Text a photo of the open unit. We will tell you if it looks like a quarter, a half, or a full fourteen. Then we show up, load it, and give you the unit back as empty space — which is the whole point of having rented it in the first place.

What we take

  • Furniture, mattresses, and boxed household goods
  • Garage-style overflow: bikes, tools, holiday bins
  • Office leftover stored “just until the new place”
  • Appliances once refrigerant is handled
  • The mixed pile you no longer want to pay rent on

What we don't

  • Wet paint, fuels, chemicals, and explosives
  • Charged freon appliances
  • Facility property — lockers, shelves they own
  • Anything the lease still says you cannot release

FAQ

Do I need to be there?

Someone with the gate code, the unit access, and the right to release the contents should meet us at the start. After we confirm the number, you do not have to watch every box.

Will the facility let you bring a trailer in?

Many drive-up rows yes; some interior halls no. Tell us the facility. We stage where they allow and carry if we must.

Can I keep a few things on the day?

Yes. Pull them or mark them before we start. A last look is fine. Sorting the whole unit while we wait is a different appointment.

What if I am behind on rent?

We haul for the person who has the legal right to the contents. If that is not you yet, wait until it is. We do not cut locks on a story.

Do you sweep the unit?

We leave it broom-clean enough to turn in for a typical facility walkthrough. We are not a detailing crew for the floor paint.
